The goal of our project is to design and develop a device that can monitor air quality and detect dust allergenic particles.
The primary objective is to develop an IoT-based device that monitors real-time air quality, detects allergenic particles (dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander), and sends notifications to users when allergen concentrations exceed predefined thresholds.
User Base
Individuals who have dust allergies and people who live near or commute through highly polluted area. The system enables them to take necessary precautions to manage their allergies effectively.
Data Processing and Analysis
We utilized a microcontroller to process the data taken from multiple sensors, calculate the Air Quality Index (AQI), and determine if allergen levels exceed predefined thresholds.
Allergenic Particle Detection
We Incorporated sensors capable of detecting specific allergenic particles, including particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), optical dust, temperature, humidity, along with gas sensors sensitive to ammonia, sulfur and benzene, which allows for continuous monitoring of the air in real-time.
Real-time Data Visualization
The sensor data along with the GPS location of the device is sent to an IoT platform where pollutant levels and other data can be seen in real-time.
